According to the Miami Herald: Richard Rodriguez Gray was sentenced to 15 years in prison for pimping out a 16-year-old-girl through the use of Backpage.com. He has pleaded guilty to human trafficking of a minor last Thursday. The 16-year-old had been used in previous prostitution operations by Gray through Backpage.com and had told Gray that she was not interested in continuing with him. Gray became angry and slapped the girl in the face. After the physical abuse, the victim submitted into doing the next job. For this, the three of them met in the Santa’s Enchanted Forest area. After the John had sex with the girl, he left to go get his wallet. He never returned. Since he did not return, Gray had the idea to go around the Santa’s Enchanted Forest area and talk to tell employees that the John had raped the 16-year-old and owed them money. Someone reported the rape to Florida law enforcement professionals and the 16-year-old was taken to the hospital for a rape kit. After talking with the victim, law enforcement professionals learned all about the Backpage.com advertisements and Gray’s previous pimping and abuse. After learning of Gray’s reaction to the bunked job and about his previous “work”, the police decided to set up a sting operation. It was to take place on Dec. 8, 2017. Gray and the girl met with the supposed John at the La Fuente Motel only to find out that it was law enforcement. Gray was arrested, the girl was taken with the police to a safe location.
