According to the Sun Sentinel: Roman Jose Fondon, Jr., a 28-year-old substitute teacher at the Ben Gamla Preparatory Academy, was arrested on accusations of having 5 sexual encounters with one of his 15-year-old female students. They apparently met for sexual encounters in his classroom, in his car, outside a movie theater, at her home, and at 2 am on the roof of the condominium where she lived with her family. They also apparently sexted each other and exchanged nude photographs. In these messages, Fondon wrote things like:“I mean, I like being risky. Thank God we didn’t get caught, though. Why couldn’t u just be like 19 or 20 lol” – Fondon
Fondon is currently being held without bond until he sees his trial judge. He is currently facing three counts of sexual battery on a victim older than 12 and under 18, and three counts of lewd and/or lascivious battery on a child older than 12 but under the age of 16.
