According to the Miami Herald: A 35-year-old youth care worker named Merice Perez Colon was arrested for sending nude photos and sexually explicit messages to a 15-year-old undocumented immigrant boy. She was the caretaker of the boy during his stay in Miami. The boy was settled into a home in South Carolina and Colon kept in touch with him using Facebook Messenger. In these messages, Colon showed the boy pictures of her masturbating and expressed a desire to see a picture of the boy’s penis. She eventually began asking the boy to return to Miami to have sex with her. In these messages, she also sent the boy videos of her masturbating and was quoted as saying: “I want a video of you masturbating. Since I already sent you several of mine.”
While the boy did send her videos of himself masturbating, he did not grant her request of coming to Miami for actual sexual intercourse.The messages were discovered by one of the boy’s relatives in South Carolina and Colon was sentenced with a 10-year federal prison stay and 50 years of supervised release. The crimes she was charged with are the attempted coercion and enticement of a minor (soliciting a minor for sexual activities).
